When
pollen is highest such as mid-morning
and late afternoon, keep doors and windows
closed.
When
dusting use a damp cloth.
Use
a vacuum cleaner with a clean filter.
Dry
clothes indoors in a well ventilated
room to avoid bringing pollen inside
on clothes and prevent dampness that
can cause moulds.
If you have been
out walking or gardening, shower, wash
your hair and change your clothes to
avoid distributing spores and pollen
around the house.
Avoid
fresh flowers, or ask that the stamens
be removed by the florist.
Not
only can many pets cause allergy themselves,
they can also bring pollen and spores
into the house in their hair and fur.
Pets should be kept indoors as much
as possible during the high-pollen season
and washed regularly.
Keep
furry toys away from open windows and
pets, and clean them regularly.
Smoking
or passive smoking can irritate the
lining of your nose, eyes, throat and
airways making symptoms worse. Do not
smoke or allow others to smoke in your
home.
